Ohio BMV Express is part of an overall customer service strategy to empower Ohio BMV customers to conduct their business with the
BMV in the most ways possible. These kiosks are one of the many options provided by BMV that make it easier to keep current on
vehicle registration renewals.
Simply scan the barcode or enter your information manually.
The ATM-like machine will accept your payment and print your vehicle registration and license plate sticker on the spot!
Who can use the kiosks?
You can renew your vehicle registration if your insurance and emissions are current.
When can I renew at a kiosk?
You can renew your registration up to 90 days prior to expiration. You do not need to wait to receive your registration renewal to renew
Will I pay a fee to use the kiosk?
Along with your renewal cost and any late fees (if applicable), there is a $4.95 service fee for up to 4 vehicles renewed at the kiosk.
Additionally there is a 1.95% or $1.75 (whichever is greater) credit card processing fee.
How can I pay?
Credit and "pinless" debit cards are accepted at all locations.
What types of vehicles cannot be renewed at a kiosk?
International Registration Plan (IRP), Fleet, Limo and Commercial Vehicles over 50,000 cannot be renewed at a kiosk.
How does it work?
Simply scan the barcode located on the outside of the renewal notification notice between Ohio return address and the First-Class postage
or scan the barcode on your current vehicle registration. You can also use the touchscreen to type in your plate number.
What do I need to bring with me to the kiosk?
1.) Your plate number and last 4 of your SSN OR your DL #, DOB, first initial of your last name & last 4 of your SSN OR scan your driver's license
2.) Payment method (credit/debit card only)
